Meet our Employee Resource Groups

DEI

Sage staff have set up a number of voluntary, regional, employee-led groups that help to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace. The groups support each other and offer a safe space where employees can discuss challenges to improve conditions and make the working environment more inclusive for everyone. They also provide valuable feedback and suggestions to improve the business and are key in shaping our ongoing DEI efforts.

UK Groups

Global Majority Group

The Global Majority Group is a space for UK staff who identify as BPOC (Black and/or People of Color) to share experiences, ideas, and resources and to provide feedback to Sage to help create a positive working environment for colleagues of color.

LGBTQIA+ Group

The UK LGBTQIA+ Group provides a space for LGBTQIA+ employees to get together, offer peer-to-peer support, and empower LGBTQIA+ staff to achieve their full potential through creating a supportive working environment free from discrimination.

In 2022, the group organized a day of Pride celebrations at the London office, with activities including a pop-up cinema, face painting, and drag bingo.

Disability, Accessibility, and Wellness

The Disability, Accessibility, and Wellness Group provides a space for Sage employees to broaden their understanding regarding disabilities (including physical, cognitive, and psychological) and to share ideas to support the building of an equitable environment.

Menopause Network

The Menopause Network is a group for people experiencing the various stages of menopause to share resources and provide peer support. The group works with Sage to raise awareness and provide education for employees to dismantle the taboo associated with menopause at work.

US Groups

People of Color

The US ERG for People of Color and allies focuses on making Sage a more diverse and equitable workplace. The group addresses conscious and unconscious biases in the workplace, leaning into discomfort to create positive changes to Sage’s workplace culture.

Together with Sage's Culture Collective group, the People of Color ERG sponsored Sage’s first official Juneteenth celebration in 2022, with a presentation and question and answer session at our California headquarters with Ayo Sekai, a political scientist and CEO of Universal Write Publications.

LGBTQIA+ Action

The US LGBTQIA+ Action Group provides a learning, networking, and social space for LGBTQIA+ identified employees and their allies, with a commitment to serving as change agents across the Sage US community.

To celebrate Pride, the group hosted a barbeque lunch at Sage’s Thousand Oaks office, with a catered lunch, pride-themed cupcakes, giveaways, a raffle, and music.

Gender Equity

The Gender Equity group's mission is to advance the empowerment and equity of individuals with marginalized gender identities both within and outside of the workplace. The group initiates conversations and actions to create an inclusive space for all.

In October 2022, the group hosted a presentation to Sage employees from the Equal Rights Amendment Coalition entitled, ”Envisioning an Equal Future: How We Get It Done.”

Mothers

The Mothers ERG is dedicated to sharing advice, issues, experiences, and more for those who are raising children. Topics range from work-life balance to finding support to take children to doctors’ appointments—and anything in-between.

Accessibility and Wellness

The Accessibility and Wellness ERG supports employees who identify as having a visible or invisible disability, as well as caregivers and allies. The group works to ensure that Sage is an accessible place for its employees, authors, clients, and vendors.

Jewish

The Jewish ERG provides a space for Jewish colleagues and allies to listen, ask questions, and learn from colleague’s personal stories and experiences. The group provides education, raises awareness, and celebrates Jewish history, culture, holidays, and traditions.

In June 2022, the group hosted a presentation from Holocaust survivor Ben Lesser, founder of the ZACHOR Holocaust Remembrance Foundation.

Global Groups

Allies

The Allies Group is open to colleagues of all backgrounds and from all Sage offices to share recommendations and resources and to raise awareness of issues relating to diversity, equity, and inclusion both internally and externally to Sage.

Women in Tech

The Women in Technology group allows staff to connect with each other, challenge gender imbalance through an intersectional lens, discuss opportunities for technologists to support diverse voices, and inspire colleagues to recruit and retain more diversity in technology roles.

Culture Collective

The Global Culture Collective aims to ensure all Sage employees feel part of the Sage community, regardless of working pattern, location, age, ability, gender, cultural, ethnic, or religious background or socioeconomic status.

In October 2022, the UK Culture Collective organized Sage Diversity Fest — a day of activities in our London office to celebrate Global Diversity Awareness Month.

The US Culture Collective hosted the “Sage Summer Cinema,” inviting staff to experience four stories told through the medium of film and to engage in critical conversations around family, culture, and belonging.
